Art K-12
Arts Education Visual Arts, Drama, Dance, Music, and Creative Writing
PT Artscape has been providing arts education in the Port Townsend Public Schools since 1998 through a generous grant from the Washington State Arts Commission and levy funds from the Port Townsend School District. We partner with many community organizations such as Centrum, Main Street Program, Port Townsend Library, NorthWest Maritime Center, Port Townsend Arts Commission, Port Townsend Education Foundation, Seattle Arts and Lectures, and Bainbridge Island Arts in Education Consortium to create dynamic and rewarding opportunities for our students. The PT Artscape works to insure that our students are getting arts education in grades K-12.

Tales, Text and Theater

At Centrum, Port Townsend 7th grade students from Blue Heron Middle School work with professional artists from all over the country in a variety of art disciplines including theater, visual art, creative writing, music and movement. Each day, students go to Fort Worden State Park instead of to Blue Heron Middle School. Their entire school day is spent immersed in the arts.

Workshop faculty includes African dance artists, improvisational actors and theater artists, visual artists, poets, circus performers, and Japanese drummers. The faculty provides multicultural education in performing, literary and visual arts.  Click HERE to learn more.
